Welcome to the First-Year Writing Program at NC State University!
As an NC State student you will take one or two writing courses in your first year, depending on your placement scores, to satisfy the General Education Requirements in Writing and Speaking. These courses should be completed during your first year. See our Placement Chart to determine which course or courses you will take. The courses are:
