Instant Editing Instructions

  1. Circle the words "was," "were," "is," and "are."
  2. Put brackets around sentences longer than 3 lines.
  3. Place a question mark in the margin beside anything that appears to be a grammar or writing style problem.
  4. Write the number of different sources in each paragraph in the margin.
  5. Read the essay for clarity. Put a clarity grade at the top- 10 = perfectly clear 1 = probably written in Portuguese
