Latin American Press Links
November 26, 2007
Students: The point of this exercise is to expose you to LATIN AMERICAN
PERSPECTIVES. For Current Events reports, use one of the
English-Language links below, OR a Spanish or Portuguese-language newspaper.
You will get NO credit for US-based media, such as CNN, NY Times, etc. Again, the point is to read Latin American perspectives, which we rarely get in our mainstream US media. Use a different source for each of your reports.
[Classroom: Print
out the stories you find, bring them to class, summarize them, and circulate
your article. Online: Summarize your news article, with appropriate direct quotations.]

If you find other good online information sources for Latin American Studies, email the URL (address) and a description to Dr. Slatta. English-language sites are preferred, but send Spanish or Portuguese links as well, if they are especially strong.
